Ok, I am really bad at this....

General / 10 May 2021

I woke up today. I started doing a little something and suddenly lightning struck me in the head.

"But how long have I not updated the blog?"

"Do I have a blog?"

Yes, I have a blog and I have to try to update it. One way or another.

So here I am and it's been over a month already, where is my head? , how did I forget about it?

So, hmm, trying to take back the whole time lost. Here I am, so I started collaborating with @ChubbyPixel ( https://chubbypixel.com/ ). Take a look at their game, they are great and they do things for Nintendo Switch ( one of my dreams is working for a title for some Nintendo console )

But I can't talk about anything, so what I have really done in the meantime? Skeletons...

Doesn't it have the most beautiful smile you could wish for? Well.. maybe not.

I know what you're thinking, another WIP but you haven't even finished the Gargoyle.

And that is why I will answer you that .....

.

it's true...

I have to finish a few things or my portfolio will continue to look gaunt and unattractive.

Exploration of different foliage style

General / 25 March 2021

Ever since I started fiddling with heretic mods, I've always been passionate about how the vegetation was made in games.

Of course, defining heretic as a game with vegetation is somewhat questionable.

But over the years, vegetation has always become an irreplaceable element of the gaming experience. Or am I wrong?

So from last Saturday night, I started trying some vegetation style always with two goals in mind.

Keep an approach as low poly as possible, both model and shader, and try to get the best quality without resorting to 3D scans.

So from now on I also write here

So from now on I also write here.

Why? Because I've had yet another discussion with some recruiters. I'm always happy to have interesting small talk, at least when I'm not offered to work for 10 euros an hour on the other side of the world programming in a dark language that I don't know.

But the point on which any discussion derails is always that. "You have few visible things." True. But not everything can easily fit into a series of images on artstation. A lot of work in progress deserves more care and love, and many programming experiments or work in Unreal and Unity that I don't really know how to show.

Today, after explaining my point of view to the recruiter on duty, I asked him frankly. "How would you do?". I would do a blog, he replied. So I showed him the articles on my site and he immediately stopped me with a "But not on your site, it must be a popular place". I thought of Linkedin or Medium, but he immediately stopped me telling me that in the end those two networks focus on advertising for CEOs and the technical aspects of the trend and to think of something more artistic.

So why not Artstation?

Someone had written it to me when I put the latest w.i.p. online [the Gargoyle], and I had never considered the existence of a space for a blog.

So why not?
